  • Celebrating Black History Month 2025 Pt.1

     

    Today marks the start of Black History Month 2025 in the UK.

    In the current political climate, we feel it is more important than ever that workplaces take every opportunity to celebrate and learn more about the diverse people who work for them and are their customers.

    To create an inclusive workplace and culture it is important that every person is valued and appreciated as themselves. Learning about different communities and their contributions, expanding our world-view is a good way to start appreciating and celebrating our differences and seeing our similarities.

    With the help of our Community members, we are celebrating our heroes of Black British History this month.

    For those who didn’t know, this week has been National Inclusion week, so it feels like the perfect time to showcase the brilliant inclusion work all our Charity Partners do.

    Fourth in the series is Global Butterflies. We hear from CEO Rachel Reese 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 about the fantastic work they do – with anti-trans rhetoric everywhere you look right now, their work supporting grassroots trans charities and campaigns is so important.

    At EDI Accreditation, we take our independence and impartiality very seriously.

    Our accreditation was designed to be thorough and meaningful.

    Our Accreditation Panel are a key part of what makes us different. Every accreditation is reviewed and approved by our panel, before the result is awarded, to ensure our standards never slip – and nothing is missed.

    EDI Accreditation is thrilled to announce we have added some exciting new Charity Partners to our existing line-up.

    Consortium LGBT, Disability Rights UK, Global Butterflies, Radical Recruit, Runnymede Trust and The Faith & Belief Forum complete our Charity Partner line-up.

    The role our our Partners is to collaborate with us, to ensure our accreditation meets the needs of the communities they serve. They are our subject matter experts – and keep our knowledge of legislation, topical issues and challenges facing their communities up to date and informed.

    Our Partners also appoint a representative to sit on our Accreditation Panel.

    In return, we donate a percentage of our profits to our Partners to support the essential work they do and to make sure every accreditation, does good for the world, as well as the workplace.
